Audio and Visual Resources
Currently in my classroom I use United Streaming video and lessons. I like how each video is segmented and provides a quick lesson or review. Another resource I use in my classroom, is Teaching Channel. I think it is important for view other colleagues and learn successful strategies for the classroom. Teacher tube and You tube are other resources I have used to augment my lessons. I look forward to using CAPSpace, a portal for video conferencing for field trips . I tune U resources offers a different way to use lessons in science. Collaboration with other classrooms is important to help enhance my lessons. Not all students learn the same way, using using technology integration will help struggling students as well.

1. M.O.R.E. Lesson
Using Models in Science
Description: In this lesson, students compare a plant and animal cell and then make a model of a cell
http://sciencenetlinks.com/lessons/cells-1-make-a-model-cell/
To modify this lesson I would use 'Redifintion" form the SAMR Model. After the cell models are created, students will use technology and explain how the cell processes nutrients and creates energy for the cells to work. Students become the center of the project, engage in collaboration using technology to explain the cell process. Using models in science is important to apply concepts in context and build understanding.
2. CAPSpace Lesson
Elaboration in Science-using Redefinition from the SAMR Model
Are we running out of oil? CAPSpace collaboration lesson. This lesson uses technology to support student learning. Students will collaborate with another school and discuss oil as a non-renewable resource. This lesson will extend and build additional understanding on our nonrenewable resources and help students engage in evidence based argumentation.

Interactive
I took a screenshot of the Cyclotron Lab at MSU. Someday, I would like to take students on a field trip or skype with a scientist.
Quizlet
Quizlet review would fall into the level of augmentation on the SMAR Model. Students are using technology, and gaining instinct feedback while learning or reviewing a topic. I use a Quizlet in the classroom as a Choice project, test and quiz reviews. Students are actively engaged and love to challenge each other with this program. A fun interactive productive program to help students learn and review.

Interactive for Classroom Content
I would like to add "readwritethink" interactive resource in my curriculum. The site seems user friendly and offers an option of "Like Teacher First Resource". I explored several classroom resources, many offered an alternative way to help students demonstrate literacy skills. The teachers resource site offers lessons and unit plans by experienced teachers. The site appears to be user friendly. Content varies, and will be useful in the science classroom as I incorporate many reading and writing strategies.
I explored Edheads, Activate Your Mind!. A science resource site that promotes content related to STEM careers. activities and games provide opportunities to use critical thinking skills. Activities were identified to meet state and national standards as well. Students will like the Edheads design area. Students can participate in research, design, test and, present new products produced by engineers.

Thing 13 Digital Images
This is my first attempt at using Shutterfly. I hope to use this site to share pictures and events from the classroom. I added a calendar and plan to update with events. I will link my shutterfly site to my classroom page to share with students and parents. I could also use this site for my teams I coach. Parents are always asking for pictures!

Thing 14 Powerful Presentations
Prezi
I made a Prezi to use as a review and added a homework assignment for students to complete. I like how Prezi helps build connections and flows to help present the topic. The program is creative and easy to learn. The program is colorful and presentations can be creative and hold students attention. My lesson fits the "redefinition" of the SMAR model. The presentation is an interactive document that allows for visuals to make connections to their learning. This may be technology I might invest in to present my lessons. I like the idea of inserting short videos to meet the learning styles of students.

I am following #21things4
I have been on Twitter since 2009. I never really had an interest in using it other to read other's tweets. After reading in Thing 15, how Personal Networks can beneifit the classroom, I now have a better understanding of its importance. I plan to explore Twitter to keep connected to education topics, new technologies, and teachers in our school. Another new tool to explore to help me keep up to date with new technology and build my networks.

I hope to use this site to assist me in integrating technology in to the science classroom. I am always looking for new ways to infuse technology into the current curriculum. I also hope that as a member I can develop my network among fellow colleagues who teach science.

MACUL Article
Maison, Shawn. "Science and Engineering Practices in Project Based Leaerning." MACUL (2015): n. pag. Web.
I found many articles that would relate to our classroom. I chose Science and Engineering Practices in Project Based Lessons by, Shawn Madison. The new NGSS requirements help students to think analytically. The classroom must become a student driven environment. Since today's learners are already engaged in real time technology our classrooms must prepare students to be ready to carry out investigations, build models, engage in argumentation for evidence and learn to evaluate. It only makes sense the science classroom incoporate project based lessons to develop these skills. It is our job as educators to put the tools into the students hands, encourage growth in thier interest and provide meaningful learning through classroom experiences.

I chose the video using the Smart-Board in the Classroom. I was surprised to learn from the video many new resources and websites are available. Since the addition of Chrome books, there has been less use of the smart-board. After watching the video and exploring its resources, I now have some new and invented ways to keep the smart-board alive in the classroom!
