Thing 15 PLN
I am following #21things4
I have been on Twitter since 2009. I never really had an interest in using it other to read other's tweets. After reading in Thing 15, how Personal Networks can beneifit the classroom, I now have a better understanding of its importance. I plan to explore Twitter to keep connected to education topics, new technologies, and teachers in our school. Another new tool to explore to help me keep up to date with new technology and build my networks.

I hope to use this site to assist me in integrating technology in to the science classroom. I am always looking for new ways to infuse technology into the current curriculum. I also hope that as a member I can develop my network among fellow colleagues who teach science.

MACUL Article
Maison, Shawn. "Science and Engineering Practices in Project Based Leaerning." MACUL (2015): n. pag. Web.
I found many articles that would relate to our classroom. I chose Science and Engineering Practices in Project Based Lessons by, Shawn Madison. The new NGSS requirements help students to think analytically. The classroom must become a student driven environment. Since today's learners are already engaged in real time technology our classrooms must prepare students to be ready to carry out investigations, build models, engage in argumentation for evidence and learn to evaluate. It only makes sense the science classroom incoporate project based lessons to develop these skills. It is our job as educators to put the tools into the students hands, encourage growth in thier interest and provide meaningful learning through classroom experiences.

I chose the video using the Smart-Board in the Classroom. I was surprised to learn from the video many new resources and websites are available. Since the addition of Chrome books, there has been less use of the smart-board. After watching the video and exploring its resources, I now have some new and invented ways to keep the smart-board alive in the classroom!
